




LOGO DESIGN & MARKETING
As a new golf tournament in the area, I was asked to create the logo and marketing material for the Phil Cyrus Memorial Golf Tournament. An avid golfer, Philip Cyrus passed away in 2006 from melanoma cancer.
Orange, being the awareness color for the disease and green being a triad color (as well as the color of grass) the logo colors where born. He and his family was very well known in the area so I wanted to play off that making his name the biggest part of the logo.
With limited budget and a small town audience, I felt that an informational poster would be the best way to get the word out and explain the details of the event. The first year poster design concept was meant to give one a new, exciting and celebratory feel. The annual poster was intended to support that same idea with family pictures from the previous year’s tournament.
I also worked with vendors to create personalized t-shirts and golf towels as another means of raising money during the tournament.
